At Perry County Humane Society, we take great pride in placing our animals in a home that is best suited to each animal's individual personality, temperament, and activity level.
In our adoption process you must fill out an application. We will also do a phone interview, a veterinarian reference check, personal references check, and whatever else is needed to verify that all the information on the application is truthful and complete.
We at PCHS want to be sure that you and your new pet are a perfect match, so that each placement is a permanent one. The adoption process is a way of getting to know you, your family and your lifestyle.
Perry County Humane Society's first and main responsibility is to our rescued pets.
You will find our online application at: https://www.perrycountyhumanesocietyil.com/adoption-information.

More about this shelter
The Perry County Humane Society is a no-kill shelter located in DuQuoin, IL.
Our dream has become a reality, we opened the first no-kill shelter in Perry County on October 14, 2003! We are very excited and are now able to save many more animals but the shelter is still not the best place for the animals to reside.
Our plan of action is ADOPTION! So many stray and relinquished animals are brought in to the animal control facility everyday. We are a Humane Society that is made up of a small hard working core group that save animals from euthanasia at the animal control facility. We work night and day on adoptions, contacting rescues, finding funding, and caring for the animals that are currently residing at the facility. We still need you to adopt and take these animals to a great home they deserve!
We have on-going sponsor programs:
Sponsor a kennel program: $200.00 per year.
Sponsor a Spay/Neuter program: $30 a month This program will support our low cost spay & neuter program for Perry County residents. Applications are reviewed and approved on the financial needs of the family applying. We will allow as many applications for the amount of funding we have available each month.
Any donation is welcome, big or small.
If you would like to help please send your donation to: Perry County Humane Society 8365 State Route 14 DuQuoin, IL 62832 . Please note in the memo of your check what area of need you want your money to go towards.
