Loki's mom got him at 3 weeks of age from a mall parking lot - he will be 7 years old in December. Mom passed away and Loki needs a new place to go asap!
Loki is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations, but he is due for his rabies in December. He is house trained and walks great on the leash. He was crate trained but mom didn’t stick with it. He has been using the crate while in a temporary home and he does well.
Loki always makes us laugh when he gets the Zoomies but this one time he was running around with my daughter while I was cooking with my mom. She was carrying the flour over to me, he knocked her over and the flour flew everywhere landing on him turning him completely white, LOL!
Another time when he was younger, he snuck out of the yard to my neighbors when they were outside playing and kept accidentally going on the Slip and Slide with them! He really is great with kids.
Loki gets along with other dogs well as long as they are introduced properly. He DOES NOT do well at dog parks. He was attacked when he was a year old at a park and hasn’t been the same with the parks since. He’s never been around cats so I don’t know how he is. And he has been around my daughter (now 2) since she was born and does great with her. He has been around older kids and does well. He likes to lick their faces but once he’s used to them will just chill around them. He has never bitten anyone. He does have a thing about his feet - since he got attacked he doesn’t like his feet touched & will let you know it.
When Loki does go outside for the bathroom, we do use a runner as he does have a history of running away. He does a daily walk around the neighborhood. He's not the most energetic dog, he does get his Zoomies once in a while but loves a nice comfy couch or bed to lounge on. He doesn’t like thunderstorms or loud yelling, he will hide under the bed or under the comforter. He really is a great family dog, I’m so sad that this is our only option.
Loki is NOT an 11th Hour Rescue dog but we are networking him for a suitable and safe home. If you can help Loki, please contact Meaghan at meaghanwatrous704@gmail.com - Loki is currently living in Ledgewood, NJ.
