My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chet, a big, lovable guy with a heart as big as his paws! Despite his size, Chet firmly believes he’s a lapdog and will gladly snuggle up for some quality cuddle time. He’s a playful and energetic pup who’s always ready for a game of fetch, especially if there are tennis balls involved. Chet adores attention and will soak up all the love you can give. He is good at taking treats gently making sure not to get your fingers. Chet is the great mix of playfulness and affection, ready to bring joy to his forever home.

Chet would do best in a home with children ages 5 and above.

We are unsure of how he is around cat friends.

Chet would to well in a home with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust.

Chet is currently in a foster home working on his excitability and manners. Here's what his fosters have to say!
"Some things about Chet is that he is a Big snuggle bug and loves to sleep. He has his moments of very high energy so he would love to go on walks in the neighborhood or even run around a park or a large back yard. He’s really good with other dogs. It is also recommended that he is in a home with a larger dog and not a little dog, as he can play rough with smaller dogs. He knows how to sit and a few other smaller commands. We are currently working on training him for good behaviors and teaching him good boundaries. If someone is willing to take the time to work with him, he could be one of the most well trained dogs. He loves playing with toys. He is a sweet boy and with an owner who is loving and dedicated to helping him learn boundaries he will flourish anywhere. It doesn’t take him too long to get acclimated in a new home, when we first got him here it took him a few hours and he made himself right at home."

This big guy recently started going on Doggy Day Outs with our volunteers. He has hung out at a park, gone on hikes and tried a pup-cup. He has been described as excitable, friendly with everyone, curious, treat motivated and a good walker after he settles down.

Here is what our volunteers have to say about him:

"Chet did great on his Doggy Day Out! He is a very excitable, friendly boy. He loves to sniff and explore. He cant get enough of both! I did some leash training with him and he did pretty good with that once he settled down. I'd love to see him on more Doggy Day Outs because he loves being out and exploring the great outdoors!"

"Other than being jostled around in the back while driving, Chet did wonderful on his day out! He loves to sniff on walks and is a very curious boy. His leash walking skills need some work for he gets distracted and likes to veer off to the right or left. I used the side command quite a bit.
Overall Chet did super being out and he's very friendly and wanted to say "hi" to everyone, including other dogs."

Chet is a 1 year old Great Pyrenees/Pitbull mix. He is current on vaccinations, is neutered, microchipped, and weighing 69lbs.
