Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.
When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.
Hi, my name is Durango, and I'm a really handsome male GSD with an estimated DOB of 7/31/22 who was transferred from a shelter where I was surrendered for chasing the cat. The shelter staff said the following about me: I'm a bit on the shy side, so please bear with me. I've heard that the world outside is full of fun, treats and endless belly rubs. I've also heard that there are things called "homes" where dogs like me get to be part of a family. I must admit, I'm a lttle nervous about that. It might take me a while to get used to a new home, but I promise, I'm willing to try. If you're patient with me, I'll be your best friend. I just need someone who will give me the time I need to warm up on my own terms. I'm currently living in a foster home, and my foster mom says that I'm a high energy boy with great recall. I take longer to warm up to men than women, so potential adopters, please take note. This doesn't mean I can't live in a home with a man. It simply means that I'll need a patient man who won't force me to move at a pace faster than which I'm comfortable. I would do best with an adopter who has experience dealing with fearful dogs. If you are interested, please go to adoptagsd.org and submit an online application. My adoption fee is $400.
Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, the animals you see may already be in an adoption process.
