In old German, the word Bruno comes from the word "Brunna", which meant "armor" or "protector". It also means dark, brown and dusky, and coincidentally, you get all of that in this handsome canine guardian. Bruno went to foster care because of his low weight and skin condition, which is now on the way to recovery. Bruno is becoming a healthier dog and has been able to let his true personality shine. With amber-colored eyes, Bruno will smile and sometimes wink as if to say "Everything's gonna be Ok! we got this" At five years old and with a mix of Hound and possibly Great Dane, he is approximately 38" tall and will be around 85-90 plus pounds soon. It appears that Bruno has been on his own for quite some time, so he absolutely loves chilling out by himself. He also loves food, butt rubs, other dogs and a comfy warm bed at night, he is a simple guy! (probably the only truly simple guy you will ever know!) This lengthy fella can simply sit all day on the deck contemplating what moves around, and yet, because of his playful, submissive nature, the Chihuahua in the house is his boss. Bruno shares the house with three smaller dogs, and he does well with them as has been told by "The Three Stooges" to leave his clumsiness aside. Bruno needs some work on the leash as he tends to pull sometimes but he understands when he is told not to. He also needs to be fed separately from other dogs as food is his number one weakness. Bruno will do great in a spacious fenced-in yard and with or without a canine friend. He has not been exposed to cats. Bruno is intelligent as the day is long, Bruno has all the right qualities you look for in an adopted pet: House trained; crate trained; has manners; is very affectionate yet independent; knows commands; gets along with other dogs... The list is long but is you that will add that missing puzzle piece to his life. . Bruno is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention. He will be microchipped and neutered before adoption. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
