Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet miss Cantaloupe!
This beautiful melon was discovered by a kind member of the community, outside roaming by herself, likely abandoned by her previous owner. Given this, we don't know too much about her previous life or what she's been through, nonetheless she's a wonderful, energetic, fun-filled lady with plenty of love and joy to give. While she'll happily come say hi to you and 'boop' you with her nose, she's not too confident about being pet yet, but day by day is making strides! Some of Cantaloupe's favorite activities include reorganizing her space, working on her 'bunstruction' projects, napping in her tunnel, and eating plenty of delicious treats (banana is a favorite!)
During Cantaloupe's spay surgery, we did discover that Cantaloupe had a cancerous tumor on her uterus which was removed. Given this finding, we can't guarantee how long she has had this cancer or if it has spread further. In her future home, it's important for her adopters to follow up regularly with their exotic veterinarian for staging and RADs to monitor progression and her health closely.
**If you are interested in meeting Cantaloupe, please complete an Adopter Profile form at www.parl.org/adopt and come by to visit us during open adoption hours (Wed-Sun, 12-4pm)!**

The first step in our adoption process is to submit an adopter profile through our website. We then encourage you to visit PARL at 34 Elbow Street and get to know the animals we have available. You do not need an appointment, and we invite you to visit us often. PARL’s goal is to assist you in finding your best match for a lifelong companion.
When you arrive, you’ll sign PARL’s visitor log, and staff will direct you to PARL’s cat rooms, small animal spaces, or dog kennels (depending on your preference.) We encourage you to spend time outside with the dogs, or petting our cats and small animals. Please ask questions -- that's why we're here.
If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, please come see us again! Chances are that we will have some new furry friends available for adoption, and one of them might be purr-fect for you!
