My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Microchipped, DOB: Aug 16, 2021

Lake is a wonderful girl with a big heart! She has the energy of a kitten, and would love a human who will make plenty of time to play with her toys. Once playtime is over, she has long naps tucked away in a cozy corner or on her human’s lap. She loves to cuddle up with her foster parents and watch TV, or snuggle under a blanket. Lake also loves a good pet and scratch behind the ears, but can get overstimulated and is not afraid to show those boundaries with a gentle nip. She's probably not a great fit for a home with small children.

She does not have a loud meow, instead when she is bored she will squeak like a mouse once or twice! She is shy when meeting new people and may take a while to warm up to her new family, but once she gets comfortable she is a super loving, energetic, and playful cat! Getting lots of playtime is key to making her happy, otherwise she'll run off her extra energy with half an hour of nighttime zoomies!

Lake is on Atopica due to allergies, which will need to be administered twice a week for maintenance of those symptoms. She is currently on duck-only diet (suspected fish allergy), but may tolerate other foods.

Special note from the foster family: Lake is truly an all-around wonderful cat, and earning her trust rewards you with plenty of love and affection in return.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
