My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I am a pretty little black & tan Dachshund mix named Jazzebell, which happens to be my original name since I was a puppy. I am now 7 years old, 11 lbs, and have lived my whole life in Lytle Texas with my owner until last month when she surrendered me to the local animal shelter. I must admit I was extremely scared and confused and wondered what I had done wrong, but it turns out her home health client did not want a dog in her home, so because she couldn't bring me to work she let me go. Thank goodness for dog rescues and lovely humans who will do just about anything to save a dog, so on the same day I was left behind a very nice lady picked me up and my road back to happiness and healthiness began. I needed a spay, a dental, some mammary tumors removed, updated vaccines, and a new microchip. 1 month later I am happy again, all fixed up and ready to find a new forever home, hopefully this time for forever!

My foster mom says I’m a loving little lady, shy at first when I meet new people, but otherwise friendly and sweet. I get along with her other dogs and show no interest in her kitty cat, but they are not my focus. My focus is snuggling with my human, sharing kisses, and giving loving glances with my beautiful soulful eyes. I am low energy, low maintenance, well behaved, and housebroken. I rarely bark and I’m mischief-free so I get to roam where I please around the house. I’ll join you on walks and rides in the car, take me or leave me at home, I’m okay. I don't mind a crate but I don't need one. I am absolutely no trouble! I do love to snuggle beside you in bed at night, and that’s a perk I think I deserve! My future looks bright again and I am looking forward to meeting the wonderful East Coast people who will share their hearts and their home with me. Inquire about me today and let's get this party started!

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
