My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hazel - Your New Bestie!

Hazel is a Jack Russel Terrier mix looking for a warm bed to cuddle on.

Here's a bit of info from Hazel's foster fam -

"Hazel is friendly with other dogs, humans, and is wonderful with my young girls. She loves to wrestle with my other dog and is always eager to socialize, go for walks, and be with her special people. Hazel is treat-motivated and smart, making her easy to train with consistency and positive reinforcement. She's doing well with potty training and is content in her kennel."

"While she initially had a rocky start with my cats, they are slowly learning to tolerate each other, though a dominant cat might not be a good fit. Hazel does have some quirks, like her dislike for the ice machine, which she barks at, but we're working on that. Most of the time, she is quiet but will bark to greet other dogs or people she wants to meet."

"With endless energy, Hazel loves basking in the sun and does well on a leash, though we're still working on her not pulling. She can be a bit of a toy and food hog, likely due to her past experiences, but it's very minor-she doesn't growl or get aggressive, just playfully runs between bowls!"

This animal was one of the pups involved in a hoarding/puppy mill/neglect case where more than 60 animals were removed from a local residence. As with any animal we adopt out, we ask that you treat your new fur baby with love, patience and kindness. What they have experienced in their short lives is not fair. They deserve a happily ever after to their previously sad story.

Don't wait-apply to adopt Hazel today!
