My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dos, a male, one-year-old, 30 pound, Catahoula/Collie mix (best guess) who’s the perfect blend of sweetness and serenity. Dos is a calm, gentle soul who’s happiest when he’s snuggled up beside you or stretched out for a cozy nap. Quiet and easygoing, he’s a master at relaxation and a true cuddle expert. With a deep love for treats, Dos is always on the lookout for a tasty snack but is equally content to enjoy the simple pleasures—like a lazy afternoon snooze. If you’re seeking a mellow, loving companion to share your days (and your couch), Dos is the perfect match!

Dos was in a shelter in Texas and scheduled to be killed. We managed to get a short extension to allow us to find temporary foster home for him, which, thank goodness, we were able to do.

He has been vaccinated and is ready to find his forever home. He's currently in Texas but once adopted he will be transported to NJ.

More about this rescue

Friends for Life Animal Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, volunteer-run, foster-based Rescue (no facility).

Our focus is to save the lives of dogs and puppies in high-kill shelters in the south and local owner surrenders.

Our mission is to place unwanted and in-danger animals in homes, regardless of age or breed. To educate the public and help stop animal cruelty and neglect.

We don't discriminate against potential adopters on any basis or for any reason. We approve potential adopters if they are and the animal they applied for is a good fit.

Extra Info.-
*If a dog is listed on Adopt a Pet, they are still available, and we accept applications. We approve applications on the best fit for both dog and family.
*We take our best guess on breed and size when fully grown.
* Our dogs are adopted from their foster home or straight from transport from kill shelters in the south.
*We always need foster homes so we can continue to save dogs. Don't hesitate to contact us if you are interested in fostering. Or fill out the foster application using this link - https://form.jotform.com/210257395409155
