My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello....my name is Abigail and I am so very thankful for the kind deputy who picked me up as I wandered in a neighborhood looking for some help. I was very pregnant and just hoping that someone would help me. Someone called animal control and a deputy was sent out to get me. What a relief to climb in that truck and ride away. We arrived at the shelter where I was given a big clean dog run, a bowl of food, and a nice bed. Ahhhhh.....I was able to go into foster care when I had my pretty babies. Everyone is doing great and my babies have reached a point that they don't need me any more. Now I can look for my "forever" home and I am very excited about that! I am a three-year-old shepherd mix. I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm positive but don't worry, my treatment is getting planned. I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. I sure hope that someone will give me the opportunity to have a stable and loving home. So far, life has been hard and disappointing for me, but with the help of the shelter I feel like things are beginning to look up!

Additional adoption info

The placement of our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes and thereby enhancing the bond between animals and people is the primary goal of the Montgomery Humane Society Adoption Program. We focus on education so that every pet owner benefits from their contact with the shelter, whether or not they adopt an animal from us. Matching the needs of the animal and the potential owner, as well as educating potential owners about responsible pet ownership, helps to ensure successful pet placements of shelter animals.
