My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

So Arika is an unusual name, right?? Well, yes it is!! It actually means "ruler of ALL" and I identify with that feeling :D
OK, I am not the ruler of all, but I am the ruler of ALL my friends! We have kind of a democratic system set up...... I tell them what to do and they LISTEN and they do what they want!
So, that is the level of my "ruler-ness". However, I have a lot more to offer than just rules and regulations.... I HAVE LOVE!
You see, I know love and I know despair...my daughter Mika and I were found on the streets, eating trash and anything we could get our faces on.... until the day that a "street feeder/rescuer" found us. From that day forward we had HOPE...
And here we are in the rescue and thriving! I rule all my friends and we are now just waiting for our furever homes.
I am a big girl, kind of deceivingly... I don't look that big but weigh in over 70# I am great with other dogs- big and small, as long as they want to play and hang out, I am down with that...
My bestest home would be with another playful dog and kids please :)
So I am here waiting, and RULING, and waiting for you to find me!
I will let you in on a little secret too... I HAVE A HEART ON MY SIDE :D So you will have a reminder to all that dogs offer to your life every time you look at my side.
Sign the contract and adopt me soon!!!

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

Go meet their pets

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
