Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dixie was found on the streets in Grants, NM and we adopted her 2 years ago. She is the sweetest dog. We think she was bred to be a hunting dog, but she is afraid of loud sounds (thunder, fireworks, and guns) so she broke away and the breeders decided they didn't want her since she wouldn't be good with noises. Some wonderful folks in Grants caught her, spayed her and administered shots and we adopted Dixie from them. We have come to the extremely difficult conclusion, however, that we need to find a new home for Dixie. We're pretty sad about the whole thing - she truly is the sweetest dog ever - but she wants to be an inside dog (at least at nighttime and during a thunderstorm) and/or with other dogs when her humans aren't around. For a number of reasons that have changed for us recently, we're not able to do that so we're trying to find a new home for her. She has average energy for a 3yr old coonhound, likes to play but really likes to sleep. She is a sweetheart.
