MEET MELLOW!!!

Mello is a sweet boy who was found as a stray and sent to MCACC, so there is little known about his history. However, he has been in foster for several weeks and doing great! The MCACC staff described him as calm, walking well on a leach and non dog reactive. He may be a little cautious with new people at first, but he quickly warms up and is a friendly, calm, goofy and loving boy!

He is house trained and crate trained. However, he does have some kennel anxiety when left alone in a crate. He requires a sturdy crate as it was discovered he is a little Houdini and is able to break his way out of a regular wire crate. He enjoys playing with lots of dog toys and knows basic commands like sit and lay down. He is a counter surfer, so he will need some training to correct. Mellow has been living with older children and three other dogs. He has done great with all of them except the alpha dog of the group. It is recommended he be an only dog or go to a home without an already established alpha dog. Mellow will be the perfect companion for one lucky home for many years to come. Meet Mellow today!

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website: www.underdogaz.com.

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.
