My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Geronimoooo!

This handsome boy, affectionately known as Gerry, is a delightful goofball looking for his forever home! Found outside a grocery store with open bite wounds on his leg and face, Gerry has shown incredible resilience. Despite his tough start, he's transformed into a loving companion with an unquenchable thirst for belly rubs and cuddles.

Gerry's playful spirit shines through as he joyfully prances around with his favorite toys, eager to show off his treasures to everyone. With his boundless energy, he'll thrive in an active home that can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.

As a strong boy, Gerry will benefit from some leash training to help him learn proper walking etiquette. His excitement often leads to enthusiastic jumping, so be prepared for some joyful greetings! And since he can leap impressively high, it's worth considering secure fencing to keep him safe during outdoor playtime.

Gerry can get a bit sad and vocal when left alone, so a guardian who works from home, even part-time, would be ideal for this affectionate pup. His adorable antics and funny sounds when seeking attention will surely bring a smile to your face!
Gerry has shown positive interactions with other dogs and could thrive with a canine companion, but would be best suited as the only dog in the home. Gerry is fully house-trained and would love a house with yard access to run and play.

If you would like to meet Geronimo, please come by the West Van shelter from 12pm-3pm Tues-Sun or fill out an application online today!

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:
