Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.
Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list.

Date into Rescue: 9/15/24
Reason for being in rescue: breeder release / breeder retiring
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Milo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Currently, Milo is underweight and needs his adopter to provide him a proper diet to reach his ideal weight. Once he’s at a healthy weight, regular exercise will keep him both mentally and physically happy. 10/23/24 we realized Milo had an ear infection. He is being treated for this and if adopted, will be sent home with instructions for continuing treatment.
Weight: 48.6 lbs
Height: 24 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $599
Fence needed? Yes, Milo requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller
What kind of home would be best for me? Milo arrived in rescue, directly from his breeder. Though he's known little about life as a pet, he has a kind and gentle demeanor and is eager to learn and grow. Milo would be a happy boy whether his adopter was a single person, a couple, or a family. Since he’s a pretty big boy and a tad nervous, he would be better if the family’s children were 12 years old or older.
Milo needs his adopter who can spend ample time at home, as he loves attention and companionship. With a big, warm smile, he’s always ready to join you for outings, whether it’s a trip to the store, a walk, or an adventure in the mountains or at the beach. Milo is best suited for a home with a canine companion to keep him company and help him learn. Having a buddy will make his adjustment smoother, as he’ll model his behavior after your dog. Remember, he has much to learn and both you and your dog will be his teachers.
Milo gets along well with larger dogs at CPR. He has shown calm indifference towards small dogs and cats, so if your pets are friendly, he’ll likely be fine with them.
What is my personality like? Say hello to Milo, your future best friend! Milo is a gentle three-year-old standard poodle in search of a loving forever home. After being released from a breeder, he has much to learn, as many experiences are new to him. With patience and guidance, Milo can become a wonderful companion.
Milo is a genial fellow but can but a tad anxious when first meeting people. He craves affection and will approach you, but he prefers gentle interactions. Instead of petting his head right away, try scratching his chin or petting him from his chin to his chest or back. Once he feels comfortable, he’ll lean in for more love and affection.
Milo walks on a leash but could use refresher training as he tends to sway from side to side. He also needs taught basic commands like sit, down, come, stay, and the like. Training time will allow you to bond with this lovable guy.
If you’re ready to open your heart to Milo, you’ll find that he can become your beloved companion faster than you can imagine. Come meet Milo today and give this sweet boy the loving home he deserves!
How do I act when I first meet new people? Milo enjoys meeting everyone, though he may be a bit reserved at first. Remember, he prefers gentle introductions - especially avoiding head pats right away. Milo has always enjoyed interacting with anyone he’s met.
Other tips and tidbits: Milo is estimated at 3 years old. We celebrate his birthday 09/15/2021.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
Thank you for considering CPR.
