Meet the Pet
Scarlett is a female 6-month-old kitten looking for her forever family in the Orlando area. This tender hearted girl had a very start rough in life before she was rescued. She was born outdoors and lost her eyesight very early in life according to her vets. She somehow managed to survive as a blind kitten outdoors for many months before she came into foster care. In foster care, Scarlett saw a veterinary ophthalmologist and had one of her eyes removed. Although she has extremely limited vision, she doesn’t have any special medical needs. However, considering her traumatic past, Scarlett is understandably slow to trust new people and adapt to new surroundings. Once she does get to know you, she has a mighty purr and absolutely loves to be pet. She will head butt into you over and over again for hours begging for pets. She is still learning to play with toys and currently enjoys batting around a quiet wand toy. She is looking for an understanding and patient family who will take things slow and continue to help her build her confidence. She is still startled by loud noises and fast movements, but is becoming more and more comfortable everyday. Scarlett’s ideal home would be a very quiet household. She would do well with older considerate children and adults only. She would do well as a single cat, or with a very laid back older kitty in the home. She would not be a good fit for families with young children, dogs of any age or breed, or high energy cats. She may still be a kitten herself, but she has an old soul and is wise beyond her years. All she wants is a relaxed home with kind humans to give her all the love she deserves.
Maybe that special family could be you? To meet Scarlett, please fill out an application through our website or contact her foster for more information.
