Meet Bluey, a gentle and sweet 2-year-old neutered male German Shepherd mix with a heart full of potential. Bluey is an inside dog who has lived peacefully with cats, but he’s still learning to trust people. Extremely shy, Bluey tends to run from unfamiliar faces, but with time, patience, and love, he will begin to open up.

Bluey likes to walk behind his owner, always keeping them in sight for comfort and security. He needs a compassionate owner who understands that he may take time to decompress and feel comfortable in a new environment. If you're someone who is willing to offer him the space and gentle encouragement he needs, Bluey could be your perfect companion.

He’s looking for a home where he can feel safe, understood, and truly loved. If you have the patience to help Bluey blossom at his own pace, he’ll repay you with his quiet, loyal companionship.

All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).
