My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Foster notes are in on our boy Scooby!

"Scooby is definitely a looker, so handsome. He is eager to learn, already got sit down quickly. I've had him walking with a harness and leash, he doesn't mind them. Scooby is house trained if taken out regularly, no accidents while with me. He is wonderful in the car and on car rides, no issues. He takes treats perfectly. Even though he had a rough start he is still the most loving and affectionate boy. Scooby loves his main person; he follows me everywhere I go. He's been amazing with my three kids, ages 10, 5, and 4. He's a super snuggler and just an all-around amazing pup. If you are serious about adopting, don't miss your chance to adopt a wonderful big puppy, Scooby Doo is waiting to meet you"

More about this shelter

Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County, HSIMC, is a non-profit animal rescue and adoption center. Our team is dedicated to rescuing and placing abandoned and displaced animals into loving homes.

As a 501(c)(3), we receive no government funding and rely heavily on our community of supporters, grants, and fundraising.

We are located in Redwood Valley and hope you come visit us and the animals in our care. We also have many volunteer opportunities and invite you to join our team!

Volunteer orientation occurs the first Thursday and last Sunday of each month at 11am. Please check in at the front office, no appointment necessary. The orientation lasts about 45 minutes and anyone interested in dog walking can sign up for a 1:1 dog walking orientation with a senior volunteer or staff member. Our volunteers are welcome to volunteer anytime during open hours.

We hope to see you soon!
