Brasher is everything you could want in a feline companion and more. Described by shelter staff as "the best cat ever," he's the perfect mix of easygoing and affectionate. Friendly and curious, Brasher walks right up to new people without hesitation, eager to make a connection and receive pets. His calm demeanor makes him a joy to be around, whether he's lounging by your side or exploring his surroundings with quiet curiosity.
Having been exposed to older kids, Brasher does wonderfully with them, enjoying their company and engaging in gentle interactions. His social nature and love for attention make him an ideal fit for families, individuals, or anyone looking for a cat that's as affectionate as he is laid-back. Whether it's head scratches or cuddles, Brasher is always ready for some quality time with his people. This special cat is more than ready to bring warmth, companionship, and joy to his new forever home.

More about this shelter
The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.
To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.
There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.
We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
