Behavior Notes:
Per volunteer 11/4: Zeus was a very lovely dog. Really enjoyed treats and getting petted. Was very good around other dogs, and easy on the leash.
Per volunteer 10/27: Zeus is ADORABLE!!! He's a puppy but is already house broken and knows commands like sit and wait. He is still a bit timid and finding his confidence, not yet interested in toys. But wanted to play with us in the yard and was super affectionate, smart, and happy. Just needs help navigating the loud and scary world. Will make the sweetest lap dog with the most beautiful brindle coat. Love him!!
Per staff 10/25:
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Zeus was in an elevated side bak kennel when I approached. He was laying facing the door with soft eyes, and stood up with low wags when he saw me. He did a big stretch as he sniffed the leash and aid back down. He was easy to leash, and allowed me to pick him up and lift him out of kennels without issue.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally but didn't walk much. Got overwhelmed in the kennels and pancaked, rolling over on his back submissively. He allowed me to carry him through kennels, and walked a little better once outside and away from all the noise.
HANDLING:
Zeus was skittish and nervous in the yard at first. He ran away with a tucked tail as I closed the gate because the noise and movement scared him. He sniffed around and took a long potty break, so he may have been holding it in his kennel! He came up when I crouched down and called him to me. He was all wiggles once I was less intimidating, and allowed all over handling with no issues. Zeus loves to be called a good boy, and will wag harder every time you call him a good boy! He took treats gently and showed me that he already knows "sit! Overall, Zeus is a timid, sweet puppy that just needs to gain a little confidence!
PLAY
Engaged in play but preferred smaller movements to running around.
TOYS:
Took some convincing but engaged with toys. Released willingly and let me take toys right from his mouth!
