My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wanted: Forever Home for Cowboy - The Ultimate Snuggle Buddy & Hiking Partner!

Saddle up, folks! Meet Cowboy, the one-year-old Great Pyrenees who's ready to mosey into your heart and home! This gentle giant is a certified people-pleaser and dog's best friend. He's the ultimate package of fluff, charm, and pure joy-anyone would be lucky to call him family!

House Trained - Yep, Cowboy's got manners! No surprises here-he knows the drill and has aced the art of being house-trained.

Playful Pal - Cowboy is best buds with our Labrador retriever puppy and his fellow Great Pyrenees pal. Playtime with him is like watching a live-action doggie comedy show. Bonus: he'll do anything for a belly rub.

Snuggle King - By night, Cowboy claims a cozy spot on our bedroom floor. And trust us, he's the ultimate snuggle pro! He'd love a home where he can curl up near his people and be part of all the comfy moments.

Big Yard Dreamer - Cowboy's looking for a home with a yard big enough to live out his 'running wild' dreams. This boy's got energy to burn, and he'll keep you laughing with his zoomies!

Outdoor Adventurer - Love hiking? Cowboy's your guy! He's a fantastic hiking buddy, greeting every trail, tree, and squirrel with the same tail-wagging enthusiasm he shows to everyone he meets. This boy is up for any adventure life throws his way!

Ready to make Cowboy part of your family? He's ready for his next chapter-full of cuddles, belly rubs, and hikes!

More about this rescue

The Milo Foundation is an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill organization providing an alternative for homeless pets throughout California, through education, adoption services, and providing sanctuary for animals until permanent homes can be found.

Founded in August of 1994, The Milo Foundation Sanctuary is located on two hundred and eighty-three acres in Mendocino County - offering lots of room for the animals to run and play. The Milo Sanctuary animals typically (but not exclusively) are harder to adopt animals and those needing more rural type homes, such as dogs with social or behavioural challenges, feral cats, horses and other farm animals. The Milo Point Richmond Adoption Center is where the majority of our new rescue intake takes place, typically friendly, adoptable cats and dogs, puppies and kittens rescued from shelters where they were facing euthanasia. The Sanctuary is where highly active or reactive dogs can go and have plenty of space, other canine companions (if they are dog friendly) and live in a stress free environment until such time as the right adoption match can be found.

The Milo Sanctuary is what enables Milo to be a No-Kill organization. Milo brings dogs back and forth from the Adoption Center (MPR) to the Sanctuary to give dogs a break from the stresses of the kennel environment and back to MPR later to try again at being adopted. Potential adopters also do come up to the Sanctuary to adopt, by appointment.
