My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Mina. In this bustling shelter, I've become quite the scholar. My days are filled with observing the world around me, the hum of the lights, the soft rustle of paper, the quiet whispers of the staff. I'm not just a spectator, though. I love to engage, to interact, to understand. I'm gentle, always ready to offer a comforting purr or a playful swat. My curiosity is boundless, my love is endless. Adopting me isn't just about giving a cat a home, it's about inviting a loving, intelligent companion into your life.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
