My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Remi is a ruggedly handsome eight year old German Shorthaired Pointer. We were told he tends to be uptight around kids and hyper dogs, and would love to find a nice quiet home by himself. We were also told by his previous owner that Remi is housebroken, has had training in the past, and walks well on a leash. It’s not every day a GSP strolls through the doors, and we would love to find the right owner who has some knowledge of the breed!

Intake notes: needs a lot of exercise, walks well on a leash, has had training, housebroken, jumps, afraid of loud noises, doesn't like cats, doesn't like kids, likes riding in cars, previously kept indoors, dominant, shy, nervous, energetic, easy goingMore information? More about this shelter

Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
