My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Annie! I'm quite the smarty pants, if I do say so myself. I love to explore every nook and cranny, my curiosity knows no bounds. But don't worry, I always come back for cuddles. Nothing beats a warm lap and a gentle hand. I'm also quite sociable, I've never met a person I didn't like. I'm sweet as pie, and just as comforting. I promise, I'll be your loyal friend and confidante. Why should you adopt me? Well, with me, you're not just getting a pet, you're gaining a companion. A companion who'll fill your days with warmth, love, and a little bit of mischief!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
