Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tootsie is an adorable 13 lb sweet girl born at the end of April 2024. We do not believe she will get much bigger, if at all.
She is a bit longer in body, and we believe she is a dachshund, terrier, chi, min pin mix.
Tootsie came to us when a good Samaritan actually went to buy furniture from somebody off marketplace. When the good Samaritan got there, they asked them if they wanted a dog too. They didn’t say no, despite they didn’t know what they were going to do with her. They knew her situation wasn’t good, and immediately contacted us for help.
Tootsie is working on crate training, and we believe the previous owners just threw her outside and neglected her based on how we received her.
Tootsie LOVES children and does great with the current foster’s young kids. She’s very friendly and spunky and will keep you on your toes.
She has been exposed to other dogs (large and small) and kittens and she is over the moon with both! She loves to play with her foster sister, Brisket (who is also available and is 50 lbs) and the fosters new personal small kitten. Tootsie is fun, but she is also gentle and sweet. She has made best friends with the kitten. If you have cats and you want a dog that wants to cuddle your cats, Tootsie is for you.
Tootsie is very smart. She catches on quickly and when you correct her, she doesn’t need to be told multiple times.
She LOVES attention. If you want a lap dog, she is also for you. She will be your shadow, your best friend and most loyal companion.
Tootsie is very curious. She loves being inside the foster’s home, rather than outside where we believe the previous owners kept her. She explores everything and everywhere, but she’s so gentle and kind about it.
An ideal home for Tootsie is one that wants a lap dog and one that is very easy going, but does need some training (house) still. She’s so smart, and so willing to learn, and with patience, training, consistency and love, we know Tootsie will make the BEST companion.
She can adapt to a calmer home or to an active home, she’s very resilient and very open to change. She’s truly a great girl. Please give her a chance.
Tootsie is spayed, heart worm negative, current on preventions, microchipped, dewormed, current on vaccinations and will have a health certificate from a veterinarian giving her a clean bill of health prior to adoption.
