My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Handsome Jake is a 2-year-old, Pekingese. Jake is a tad shy but warms up quickly to new folks. He is good with other dogs and reportedly good with feline friends too. Jake lost his home as a result of his human mom passing away. The remaining family found the breeding operation to be unmanageable and sought assistance. Jake is house trained and crate trained. He isn’t a super playful guy, more on the lazy side. He’s an excellent lap warmer and companion, though!

Jake is being fostered in Mead, Colorado.

*We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. *

Mile High Canine Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3, Colorado non-profit organization established in 2019. We are 100% volunteer run and foster home based. MHCR aims to provide abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs a loving home to grow and learn in until a suitable forever home is found. While in foster care, our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested/treated, microchipped, and vaccinated. We rescue dogs from Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.
