Meet Camacho: The Gentle Giant with the Million-Dollar Smile!

This athletic 50-pound love bug has mastered the art of the full-body wiggle and sports an infectious grin that lights up any room. At two years old, Camacho is especially drawn to women and children, proving himself to be quite the charming gentleman!

After being rescued from abandonment, Camacho found his way to a loving foster home where he's blossoming into an amazing dog. His foster dad reports that he's a quick learner who already knows several commands, and he's wonderful with other dogs and older children. Everyone who meets him – from shelter volunteers to his foster family – falls head over heels for his sweet nature.

Camacho is looking for a forever home where his natural affection and intelligence can shine. While he's still perfecting his leash manners, he's already shown himself to be an obedient and eager-to-please pup. He may take a little time to warm up to men, but once he feels safe, his true loving nature emerges.

Their adoption process

Submit Application

We are 100% volunteer/foster based, so we do ask that you complete an adoption application in order for us to schedule a phone interview.

2.
Interview

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you to determine if dog is a good fit for your lifestyle and home.

3.
Approve Application

We check vet and personal references to ensure previous dogs were well cared for, so please be thorough in providing this info.

4.
Home Check

This enables the dog to get to know you and your home and for us to suggest anything they may need to be successful in your home.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

You would also pay the fee at this time, however, we offer a 2 week trial period before cashing your check. We will always take dogs back.

You will be asked to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/dh-adoption) and allow a home visit to ensure the pet is a good fit for your home/lifestyle.

We are primarily a placement service, so the adoption fees vary depending on each pet and what caretakers have invested medically and behaviorally to ensure they are adoption-ready.

We do not have a shelter, so please understand that we are only able to support animals with foster homes or donations toward short-term boarding.

More about this rescue

Doggie Harmony is a metro-Atlanta dog rescue group focused on finding the right homes for dogs in foster care or belonging to owners who wish to re-home them. Our core objective is to place these dogs before they are turned over to animal control facilities, where they may be euthanized. Lastly, Doggie Harmony supports spay/neuter, wellness, and training to help keep or place dogs. This includes helping people find low cost resources and/or lending financial support where there's a qualified need.
