Meet gorgeous Avery! Housebroken, calm, gentle giant who is a little shy with people but warms up quickly. She is somewhat hesitant with other dogs due to most likely having to compete with other dogs for attention and food in her prior life. She will do best as a household pet and the only dog in your home. Avery is a sweetheart who needs a chance. She walks great on a leash, does well with kids, and has done well both in a crate and free-roaming the house. Meet the dog/puppy at weekly adoption events (every Saturday) Meet cat/kitten at area locations including our Kitty Korner (1649 Main St)

Interview

Interview to see if the pet will be a good fit into the home.

Approve Application

The application is completed and approved.

Sign Adoption Contract

Meet the pet. A short interview will be conducted. Fill out an adoption application and contract and you can take your new companion home. We are always here to support you after the adoption with any questions or concerns.

Go meet their pets

We hold adoption events every Saturday from 10 to 1 at the Grand Junction Petco, PetSmart or Chow Down for dogs and puppies. Cats and kittens can be seen by appointment at Grand Rivers Humane Kitty Korner (1649 Main St, Grand Junction 970.257.0070) or anytime at Petco, PetSmart and J&M Aquatics. All of our adoptable pets come from Mesa County Animal Services.
