My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A WONDERFUL & FRIENDLY LADY:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 77 lbs. & needs to lose a little weight

Hello – I’m Hattie!  I don’t remember how I ended up at animal control, but I am sure happy that Mostly Mutts was able to rescue me! I’m loving all the nice volunteers at MM who come to take care of me and spend time with me, but nothing will beat a home and family of my own!  I needed a good dental cleaning which I have received thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization and now I’m ready for my family to come and adopt me!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I think I’ll do best with dogs that are more mellow like me.  I wasn’t ready to play with them, but I also didn’t show any aggression, so if you have a more mellow dog, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over since I’m a big girl.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as super sweet, precious, calm and super chill.  I don’t know what all that means really, but they love me and that’s good enough for me!  I was also wonderful for my shelter bath when I arrived. / My energy level is around 3 – 5.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and can't wait to learn lots of new skills with my trainer! / The volunteers report that I have been very easy when it’s time to return to my crate. / I’m doing well on the shelter schedule with my potty manners, so I think I’ll do well in my new home too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy spending time with the volunteers and cuddling together, going for short walks, and my favorite thing is belly rubs. / I can’t really think of any dislikes but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, good care and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I had a fatty mass that was removed from my lower abdomen, so I have some staples there that will be removed very soon.  I’m healing up nicely.

I’m a wonderful, relaxed kind of dog looking for the same in my new home.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

You may also call our phone line, 770-272-6888 or email adopt@mostlymutts.org with specific questions about any of our adoptable animals. We do require an interview, references and a contract. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
