My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a sweet, shy, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home!

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

Googly tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the behavior shown, she may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.

A volunteer writes: Sharing your heart takes so much strength and courage. Googly knows this as she's tried and tried to offer her heart to new friends, but maybe she's starting to get a bit worn down by all her effort. I wouldn't be able to blame her. Googly was initially found wandering around an apartment building, searching for home and a kind face. Nobody claimed her and she was brought to us where she's been trying to find a comfortable place for herself and love in a way that makes sense to her. This is no easy feat in the hustling and bustling Care Center, but Googly's doing her best. When I went to visit, Googly woke up with a sigh and looked at me expectantly. With the promise of treats and pets in hand, Googly agreed a visit would be nice. She came forward just a little to accept the pets and treats. While she wasn't bouncing around in search of new friends, Googly is wondering if you could open your heart to her. She knows it's not easy, but she knows it'll be worth it.
