Meet Chucky, a 1-year-old male pup with 44 lbs. of pure fun and energy! This adorable stray is full of personality, and just wait until you see his ears-they both lean to one side, giving him the cutest, most unique look.
During playgroups, this kiddo came in 100mph. He doesn't have many manners and was jumping all over another dog with his front feet and mouth flying. We don't think he means any harm, his under-socialized style is not going to be every dog's cup of tea. He could easily butt heads with well-mannered dogs. He will need an equally mannerless playmate or a super tolerant dog.
Chucky gets super excited when it's time to go outside, jumping around and eager to be leashed. He may show a bit of reactivity as he rushes by other dogs, but once he's outside, he's all about exploring and even goes potty right away.
Chucky is on the potty-trained list, keeping his kennel clean, and he knows "sit" and takes treats gently, which makes training a breeze. Fun-loving, playful, and curious, this sweet guy would be a perfect match for an active family or person who can help him channel all that puppy energy.
Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $400 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment.

If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
