My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Bruno was brought in by his previous owner on October 4, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Bruno, a shy soul looking for a patient and understanding home. This sensitive boy prefers to interact on his own terms and is not fond of being picked up. Due to his history of litter box issues, he would thrive best in a quiet environment without other pets or children, where he can feel safe and secure. To help him adjust, he will need extended confinement in a calm room, like a spare bedroom, with easy access to multiple clean litter boxes. Bruno will need some time to adjust, and he may require different types of litter to find his preference. Bonding with him will take time and patience. To start bonding, you can offer high value food, treats, and gentle play. Bruno also has a cataract on his left eye, no treatment is indicated at this time. If you have a peaceful home and a loving heart, Bruno could be the perfect companion for you. Be sure to bring a secure cat carrier for a safe ride home!

Shy/Fearful Cat: Bruno requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
