My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
Rocky has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home!

Why Rocky might be the one for you:
Rocky, with his brindle coloring, white chest and dainty white toes makes for a very handsome dog. Rocky loves to eat and is always ready for his next meal or treat. He can be a chatty guy and will need some extra patience and positive reinforcement to reduce his barking. He is a fast learner and wants to please! He has learned basic commands like sit, down, up, off and watch. Rocky is an active and curious boy who enjoys lots of outside walks and adventures. He also loves to relax and cuddle up inside, so he'll be happy to join you for lazy days. If you're interested in giving this handsome pup the loving home he deserves and gaining a loyal companion in return, come meet Rocky today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
