My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gracie and her brother, Bandit, were surrendered to Helping Strays at 10 years of age. They are looking for a nice home to spend the rest of their years in. They are both housetrained and have very sweet personalities. They do need to be adopted as a pair since they have been together since birth. Being older they are on medications. If you can find in your heart to give this pair a great life, they would so appreciate it! Adoption fee has been waived.

Gracie is 10 years old and weighs 100 pounds.

Gracie's adoption fee has been covered by a generous donor. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.

More about this shelter

We promote the humane care of all abandoned and stray animals in our community. We are a no-kill shelter. All of our pets leave the shelter for their forever homes micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines, and altered.

Founded in 2002, Helping Strays is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization supported entirely by donations.

Our lucky animals receive appropriate medical care, are featured on the Helping Strays website "adoption list" and are taken to several adoption events every month in an attempt to find permanent, loving homes.
