My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cydesdale,
Clyesdale is bonded to Criollo.
Together they are a bonded pair of gentle souls with hearts as big as the open range. Like two skittish colts, they're a bit shy at first preferring to stay close to each other as they navigate new surroundings.
BUT once they feel safe, these two will slowly trot into your heat with their quiet affection.

Clydesdale is more reserved and appreciates watching his surroundings. Criollo is the braver of the two. Clydesdale follows along at his own pace. They're like two horses in perfect stride, always by each other's side.

These sweet, shy kitties are looking for a calm, indoor-only, patient home where they can find their footing. With time, these two will reward your patience with the gentle companionship only a bonded pair can offer- double the love and loyalty!

Adopt these two and let them ride off into the sunset of your home, where they'll find peace and safety!

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort
