Meet Shinx: The Ultimate People Cat!

If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate, and social kitty who loves to spend time with humans of all ages, Shinx is your girl! She’s a cuddle expert who enjoys being petted, carried, and snuggled by anyone willing to give her attention. Whether you're working from home or just hanging out, Shinx is content to curl up in a chair next to you, making her the perfect office companion.

Shinx is currently learning the ropes of leash walking, but she’s not quite sure about it yet and prefers to wait for admirers to come pet her instead. When it comes to playtime, she's always up for fun! Feather toys, ball toys, and tunnels are her favorites, and she’ll happily set up camp for some playful antics when given the chance.

While Shinx isn’t the biggest fan of other animals, she has learned to peacefully co-exist with younger kittens, older cats, and even a big dog. She might give a little growl to let them know she prefers her space, but she’s never shown any aggression. Her true love is people, and she’s ready to find a forever home where she can be the center of attention!

You may visit our cats at the Dancing Cat Cat lounge by appointment, or via Zoom for cats in foster homes.

Additional adoption info

We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization dedicated to saving local at-risk shelter pets from the San Jose Animal Care Center. Our goal is to give adoptable animals a chance to shine in a casual and relaxed environment, and expand opportunity for adoptions, thereby reducing the euthanasia rate in Silicon Valley. The Dancing Cat also seeks to create a community of cat lovers by providing a place for fun social and educational events.
