My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max is a 4 year old recently neutered male at our rescue that weighs 109 lbs! He is a mix of Newfoundland and Lab! Housetrained. Dog friendly! Kid friendly! Cat friendly ! He is very sweet and well behaved! Is strong on a leash! He is Lyme and heartworm negative since we just tested him! Would need training for that or a fenced in yard! He was in a home since a puppy but always left outside free roaming when not inside the home. Luckily he was never hit by a car but several people saw him at a crossroad often. The owner surrendered him to our rescue since many people were sad about his condition and owner didn't really have time for him due to his circumstances. He will also be microchipped by us! Their adoption process

Submit Application

Inquiry can be made about a pet by emailing casey@rescuepetsservingvets.org and/or calling 570-441-0083. Application then emailed to adopter

Interview

Vet reference check is done if they have or had previous pets and applicant is interviewed on phone as well to insure compatibility

3.
Meet the Pet

A meet and greet is set up with potential adopter and pet at a agreed upon location

4.
Home Check

Home visit is required to check the safety of the home where pet will be adopted into.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

Owner completes an adoption contract and I visit pet within a week at the new home.

For now an application can be emailed to a person interested in adopting a pet until I can finish setting up website and links.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of volunteers that rescue pets with medical needs from a kill shelter. We treat them at our associated Vet clinic and make sure they are spayed or neutered and vaccinated. Pets are then put up for adoption and we try and match them with the right owners. We give special priority to veterans and we begin service dog training while pets are with us. Pets are fostered in our homes or at the Veterinary Clinic until homes are found.
