Frankenwienie came to us after his previous owner no longer wanted him, but this boy hasn't let that slow him down! He's an incredibly outgoing, friendly pup who gets *so* excited whenever he sees anyone-whether it's a human or another dog, he's always ready to greet you with enthusiasm and a wagging tail.
Frankenwienie loves to go on walks and is a big fan of playtime in the yard. He's always up for some fun, whether it's chasing a ball or just running around and exploring. But don't let his playful side fool you-he's also a big cuddle bug! He's always down for a snuggle session after a fun day of play.
He may need a little grooming now and then, but he's a champ when it comes to brushing-he stands still and enjoys the attention. He also does great in the bath, making maintenance a breeze.

All adoptions require an application. Reference checks are made, landlord verification is needed, and Vet references are checked. All dogs/cats must be spayed and neutered that live in the home. A $50.00 dollar deposit is required for puppies/kittens that are to young at the time of adoption for the spay/neuter.
All dogs/puppies made available have current Vaccinations, heartworm tested, frontline, wormed, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered age permitted.
All cats/kittens made available have current vaccinations, , frontline, wormed, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered age permitted.

Dogwood Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter.
Since its infancy, compassionate, like-minded volunteers have been the driving force behind Dogwood Animal Shelter. Through auctions and sales, a handful of dedicated people raised enough money to build its first, albeit small facility and was established as a 501(c) 3 in 1976. It was filled beyond capacity almost immediately.
The shelter is funded entirely from donations and proceeds from their Dogwood Animal Shelter Thrift Store.
After years of saving, planning and busting at the seams with fur-babies, in 2005 it was time to build a new facility with their own in-house clinic! Under the direction of Dr. John Reinhold and coupled with a very dedicated and gifted team of Veterinarians and staff, Dogwood Animal Shelter continues to offer low cost spays and neuters to the public as well as services to their shelter buddies; services to approximately 2,000 dogs and cats yearly!
