My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scrappy Dappy Doo! Scrappy is around 1 year old and we believe he is a Lab mixed with a smaller breed such as Terrier. His mama was a Chihuahua mix but Scrappy is bigger than she is and a great medium size. Scrappy's favorite things are walks, ripping apart stuffed toys and snuggling! He is a champion cuddler and couch cuddles are a must have for this boy in his forever home. He is a lovebug that bonds closely to his family and he is gentle with kids. Scrappy has a lot of young dog energy and is looking for an active family that can help Scrappy channel that energy in positive ways. He loves to go for walks and goes on a few walks a day in his foster home but he would also be a good running and hiking buddy. His foster mom gives him snuffle mats and puzzle toys to work his brain, but his favorite toy in the backyard is the flirt pole. He is very fast and loves to jump and play so we think he'd excel in dog sports such as agility, dock diving or frisbee. Scrappy is learning his basic commands; he's mastered Sit and is learning Down and Come. He is also housetrained in his current foster home with regular visits outside. His forever home wishlist includes a backyard for him to run and play in. He is good with other dogs once he gets to meet them and is a social, playful boy. He would love a dog buddy in his forever home that matches his playstyle but would be ok on his own as long as he had social playdates with dog friends or visits to the dog beach, park and/or dog daycare. Scrappy is working on crate training in his foster home. He sleeps quietly at night in his crate and has learned it's ok to be in his crate when his foster family has to leave him. He would love a family where someone works from home or can take him to work with you but he settles down after a few minutes in his crate and can be crated for a few hours home alone especially when home alone with another dog close by to keep him company. He is looking for an experienced family that can continue his training and set him up for success. Scrappy is a sweet, quirky boy and if you are lucky enough to adopt him then you will be rewarded with all the snuggles in the world! If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting Scrappy, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps. Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at www.labsandmore.org. Your adoption donation provides funding for Labs and More, a nonprofit organization which is supported solely by Volunteers and funded by donations. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog. We provide no guarantees regarding behavior, breed, or age of the dogs. Thank you for rescuing. Thank you for joining the Adoption Family with Labs and More Rescue. More about this rescue

Labs and More is one of the broadest rescues in Southern California. We are a Non Profit - Grassroots - Volunteer run Organization. We adopt to patient, kind and respectful families who partner with our Volunteers throughout the adoption process. Matching families with appropriate dogs is our priority so we strive to adopt to the family who best matches with the dog. This year our Volunteers celebrated the adoption of our 14,000th Dog. We rescue for need not for breed and search out dogs that without our help have no chance of getting adopted from shelters. This year alone over 300 dogs in our care will get needed surgery, life-saving treatment, or other major medical care. We take in hundreds of pregnant moms who will be able to deliver their puppies in the safety of a home and in loving arms. All our dogs and puppies are spayed or neutered prior to being adopted.

We cannot save them all but we will save all we can with support from generous supporters, people like YOU!
