The Good: Kasper was a rescue dog that I adopted over a year ago. His release papers state that he is approximately 9 years old (their guess). However, his dog trainer (Taylor Made Working Dogs) stated approximately 3 but I've had him for nearly 2 years after training so maybe he's 5 years old now. Kasper is absolutely stunning to look at and in great health. He has done a 6-week board and train program, and is house-trained, will walk at your heel, come to you when called and sits on command. His demeanor is calm and quiet. He doesn't wander around or approach others.
The Bad: Kasper is also a resource guarder. Pretty much anything that he deems valuable (including people) may cause him to bite or snap in defense. Sadly, because I have tenants who rent rooms in my house, I'm not able to provide the ideal environment for him to thrive. Additionally, while he may be able to enteract with large well-behaved dogs, he doesn't do well with small dogs.
