Penny is a beautiful fawn-colored lab/pit mix with a heart of gold!

Although she may be a bit shy at first, she warms up quickly and becomes a loving and loyal companion. Once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality truly shines!
Penny is gentle and playful, enjoying the company of other dogs and engaging in fun, friendly playtime. She knows how to sit on command and is eager to learn more! While she’s uncertain about cats, she’s always willing to try and adjust.

Penny is recommended for a home with kids aged 12 and older, as her shyness makes her more comfortable with older, gentle children who can give her the time she needs to blossom.

Submit Application

Interview

Macomb County Animal Control will verify proper preventative care history of past/current pets and verify home ownership/review a pet policy

3.
Approve Application

Once an application is approved the adoption coordinator will schedule a time with the applicant/family to meet the pet.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

If a meet-and-greet is successful the family has an opportunity to finalize the adoption.

5.
Pay Fee

Each pet has an established adoption fee and payment can be accepted in the form of credit/debit, check or cash.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

Fees very depending on age, animal, breed, etc. Fees vary and are established by the county to help offset medical and care expenses.

You are required to fill out an adoption application that is subject to review. We reserve the right to deny any application for any reason. If you would like to adopt and dog and already have a dog/s, please bring your dog/s with you so we can make sure the dogs get along. If you rent your home, live in a condo or mobile home community, please bring proof that you are allowed to have pets.
