🐾🩷🌴Meet Chelsea, a “Sato dog” from Puerto Rico! A “Sato dog” refers to the small to medium-sized stray dogs on the island. Island dogs are smart, loyal, highly trainable, and thrive on routines and consistency. They have wonderful demeanors, make devoted companions, adjust well to their environments, and are a perfect mix of energetic and affectionate. There is no love like the love of an island dog.
(Five week update: 11/25/24) Chelsea was rescued with her sister from Playa Azul beach in September. She flew from Puerto Rico on 10/20 and now shares her foster home with another doggie friend. Chelsea is a true love bug and one of the sweetest dogs we have worked with. She was a pro during her transport journey and didn’t make a peep! She walks well on a leash, does great with crate training, and is house trained. She is affectionate, loves being by your side, and has a warming personality with the cutest tail wags. Chelsea gets along great with various other dogs and has been around kids and has done wonderful. Her soul is gentle and she is a very easy going girl. (Unknown with cats, yet, but likely no issues with proper introductions). We anticipate and see no prey drive for her. We know who her mother is, but are unsure who the father is. Chelsea is a perfect, little girl. 🙂
