Remy joined us about two years ago through a Bissell Foundation airlift from Texas. He landed in a fantastic home where he’s been showered with love, but unfortunately, circumstances have changed.
Despite being a wonderful companion who’s great with kids, Remy’s family has a young daughter who is afraid of him, even though he has done nothing to deserve her fear. He’s an affectionate dog who just wants to be a part of the family, and his family has realized it’s not fair for him to be separated from them. He generally ignores the youngest daughter, respecting her space. He occasionally gives her a gentle lick when they reunite, and although he’s knocked her over in play, it was never intentional. [This exact words from current mom]
Remy isn’t much of a barker, but he has the sweetest howl when he’s happy or excited—especially when it’s time for a walk! He enjoys spending time outdoors, running around with his toys (he’s particularly fond of squeaky ones), and basking in the sun. His favorite outings are runs in the state park, where his puppy energy shines.
While he’s not a fan of car rides and can get a bit nervous during them, he can take them when needed—maybe with a little CBD!
His current mom reports that he LOVES OTHER DOGS. He happily walks on leash and has zero issues meeting humans or dogs. He also plays with other dogs of all sizes with no issues.
If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate dog who just wants to be part of the family, Remy is ready to meet you!

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
