My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Emma!

13-year-old Emma was entrusted to our care through the Final Wish Program after her dad fell and sustained a severe spinal cord injury, leaving him paraplegic.

Emma is a loving, sweet, and gentle companion who loves to be around people, napping at their feet, going for short walks, and having plenty of cuddle time. In her previous home, Emma also enjoyed sitting on the patio and keeping her dad company while he was outdoors.

Emma had a vestibular episode in 2023 that left her with a slight head tilt, and arthritis in her spine causes her to shuffle a bit when she walk, as you can see in the video. She doesn't let either keep her from living her best life! Emma does ask that her new home be one-story, so she can easily access her favorite spots. She would also appreciate a dog bed that’s easy for her to walk into.

Emma does well with other dogs in the household and tends to be submissive. The only exception is if there is a food involved; she does not resource guard or act aggressively, but will try to snag something yummy (don't we all?) Emma would also be content as the only pet in the home.

Emma is a sweet and easygoing dog who thrives on companionship and affection. She would be a great fit for someone looking for a laid-back companion who will keep you company throughout the day and offer you love and devotion in return.

Drop by to meet Emma between 10 AM and 3 PM any day of the week. Be prepared to fall in love with this gentle soul!
