My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for an adorable, low-maintenance pet? Meet our adoptable gerbils! These curious, active little creatures make wonderful companions for both new and experienced pet owners. Gerbils are social animals, so we recommend adopting them in pairs or small groups to ensure they thrive with plenty of company. They are entertaining and energetic, spending much of their time digging, exploring, and playing, which makes watching their antics a joy. Gerbils are also fairly easy to care for, requiring daily fresh food, water, and a clean habitat, but without the attention demands of larger pets. Known for their gentle and inquisitive nature, they can become quite comfortable being handled with regular interaction. Plus, they`re clean and odor-free when provided with proper bedding and habitat maintenance. Gerbils need a spacious cage for burrowing, a wheel for exercise, and enrichment toys like tunnels and chew sticks. If you`re ready to give these small, furry friends a safe and loving home, contact us today to learn more about adoption!

More about this shelter

We are an open admissions shelter, meaning we take in homeless animals regardless of age, breed, health, temperament or lack of space. On average, we take in about 5,500 stray, surrendered and abandoned animals per year including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and reptiles. We provide adoption services to find safe, happy homes for these pets; and also provide low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics to help safeguard them against illness or being lost forever.
