Sweet Joey came to Fuzzy Pawz from Montana after his owner passed away, and quickly
became one of his foster’s favorites! He is an affectionate, rambunctious guy who loves fetch,
running, playing with other small dogs, and receiving belly rubs! He is extremely good both on
and off-leash, and, true to his breed, his happy place is on the trails right on his person’s heel.
Joey loves the other small dog in his foster home, but can be nervous around larger dogs. He
has not been around cats. Once he gets to know people he is very affectionate and will often
run up and spin around with his butt in the air, or roll over on his back, asking for scratches. That
said, he can be nervous around new people, so will require some patience as he is introduced
to a new household.
Joey is super smart and knows lots of commands, including sit, down, spin, speak, and probably
others that have yet to be discovered! He would do best with an active home where he would
get daily exercise, but once he’s had a chance to get out he’s happy to chill on the couch. Of
course, if there’s a ball in sight, he’ll be clear when he’s ready to get after it again and play fetch!
If Joey sounds like the dog for you - please apply!

More about this rescue
We are a group of animal lovers banded together to rescue unwanted dogs and cats that are in shelters and pounds located throughout Idaho. Our non-profit rescue places each animal into our foster home program while we search for forever homes for them. We supply all vet care, food, toys, bedding; really anything they need while in our care.
We focus on those animals that are considered “hard to adopt” for various reasons; like kennel stress, having a black coat, being over 8 years old, etc. Often a foster home rather than a shelter environment helps give many of these animals a second chance at the life they deserve!
We relay on community donations and individuals willing to be foster care givers in order to continue our work.
