My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spot is a 4-year-old Lab mix who will steal your heart with his sweet nature and love for cuddles! This charming boy is a cuddle bug at his core-always ready to snuggle up next to you after a day of fun and play. Spot is an affectionate pup who thrives on human companionship and is sure to shower you with love, loyalty, and tail wags.

Spot is dog-friendly, so he enjoys the company of other dogs and would make a great addition to a home with furry friends. His playful nature means he's always up for a game of fetch or a good romp in the yard, but he's just as happy relaxing and being with his people. He's also house-trained and walks well on a leash, making him a well-mannered companion for walks and outings.

This sweet boy is a good boy through and through-his playful personality, combined with his gentle, affectionate nature, makes him the ideal companion for an active family or an individual who loves to give and receive love. Spot is ready to fill your life with joy, love, and cuddles.

Spot is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for his forever home. If you're looking for a fun, affectionate dog who will be your loyal cuddle companion, Spot might be the perfect match for you!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of North Central Florida was created in 2018 when the leadership of the Alachua County Humane Society, Gainesville Pet Rescue, and Helping Hands Pet Rescue decided to permanently join forces. By becoming the Humane Society of North Central Florida, our organizations were able to effectively streamline services for pets and pet owners, eliminate any duplication of services, maximize our community’s resources, and improve the life-saving abilities of the entire region.

Our founding organizations have been dedicated to serving pets in Alachua County for more than 40 years. The Humane Society of North Central Florida is a limited intake, no-kill animal rescue shelter. The animals in our facility are transferred from open-intake and/or managed admission municipal shelters across North Central Florida. The Humane Society of North Central Florida is an independent, local 501(c)(3) organization. As such, we do not receive funding from federal agencies, nor are we affiliated with any other state or national organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States or the ASPCA.
