My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nefisi
There is some controversy regarding my name. Some say it means a spirit or ghost; others say it means valuable, precious, or highly desired. I think all are acceptable! On September 3, a kind person found my SEVEN kittens and me in Fishers. I`m as shocked as you! How did seven babies fit in my tiny body? I am 3-years-old and weigh 7 lbs. In terms of my appearance, I`ve been told I am beautiful, primarily white with Calico splotches. My little family and I moved right into a perfect foster home so that I could raise the babies. Unfortunately, my medical exam revealed I had coccidia (a parasitic infection of the intestinal tract) and roundworms. These are the kinds of things a stray cat has to deal with. My kittens were also infected, and we all had to take medicine to recover from this nasty disease. Now my babies and I are healthy and feeling tip-top! My foster mom fell for me because I am so easy-going, friendly, and well-adjusted. I got along with all the cats and the dog in my foster home. I didn`t mind a bit when they said hello to my kids. The interviewer lady told me I would be the perfect cat for any household due to my outstanding personality and adaptability. If you are in the market for a new kitty, you better visit with me. I`m a hot commodity! 11-6-24

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
