Tortoiseshell lovers with a quiet home, check out Susan! This gorgeous 8-month-old tortie needs you. When Susan arrived, she was so scared of everything. She wouldn`t let us touch her, she would lash out and she really wasn`t sure what humans were. That`s where the CCHS staff comes in. Determined to make Susan love us, the Shelter Manager worked with her, winning her over every day she was here. She used back scratchers to try to touch her and get her used to be touched, special food and toys and patience. A lot of patience. Gradually, Susan began to soften, and she started to like her head scratches with the back scratcher. Since October, Susan has made huge progress and now she looks forward to the extra attention, can be carried and we no longer need the back scratcher. We know that if you want to give her a chance, she`s going to continue to get more and more friendly with one-on-one time. Susan LOVES to play, and she enjoys almost any toy. She also came in with another cat and she doesn`t mind the company of other cats. We think small children would scare her, so we are looking for a quiet, kid-free home. If you can give Susan a chance, apply to meet her at www.cchswi.org
